In 1905, the United States Marine Corps decided to adopt a new khaki-colored, cotton field trousers. The field trousers exhibit all the early details with an adjustable, buckle back and wide belt loops (the trousers are tailored from an unissued example from the Standard Parachute company archive).
The USMC field trousers would be issued to all Marines in the CONUS, pacific, and Caribbeans, all the way through the Great War. The adjustable buckle back detail would be deleted from 1919 onward.
